One Israeli killed, dozens injured as tour bus crashes in South Korea

Local police opened an investigation into the incident and questioned the driver.

An Israeli woman was killed and nearly three dozen others were injured on Thursday when their tour bus crashed in Chungju, South Korea, according to the Foreign Ministry.

The ministry confirmed that a bus carrying 33 Israeli tourists had overturned, adding that diplomatic representatives had visited the scene of the crash and were dispatched to hospitals.

At least seven people were seriously hurt in the incident.

Local police opened an investigation and questioned the driver.

South Korea has increasingly become a travel destination for Israelis. The two countries ratified a free trade agreement in September, Israel’s first with an Asian country.

Israel exports about $1.5 billion in goods and services to South Korea each year and imports around $2 billion’s worth.

“I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade,” the U.S. president said.
“Israel has the right to defend itself against threats, but the attack it was responding to was very small and meaningless, nobody was hurt, injured, or killed, and should not disrupt this important process,” the president posted to Truth Social.
Marchers carrying a rainbow flag with a Star of David were called “baby killers.”
The IDF attacked Hezbollah targets in response to drone strikes on the Galilee.
“I wish you continued strength and vigor,” wrote the Israeli leader.
The construction of the five-star hotel at Ben-Gurion Airport is slated to begin in 2028.
