The Israeli defense minister praised the attack as a “record-breaking achievement.”
The prime minister’s office stated that “there is only one compass, which is the war objectives as set by the Cabinet,” after the defense minister criticized the war effort as aimless.
The Israeli defense minister briefed his American counterpart on the IDF’s “precision strikes on military targets in Iran.”
The U.S. secretary told his Israeli counterpart that “opportunities that now exist to use diplomacy to dial down tensions in the region.”
The U.S. secretary “reaffirmed the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security, including in response to Iran’s unprecedented ballistic missile attack.”
“A year since the launch of the brutal Hamas attack on Oct. 7, Israel is still defending its citizens against enemies on seven different fronts,” the Israeli defense minister said.
“We have the ability to put it into operation very quickly, and we’re on pace with our expectations,” the Pentagon chief said.
Israel’s defense minister called on the Hamas terrorists to “cease fire and immediately release the hostages.”
“I hope we reach something, but right now there is no lead,” said the Israeli defense minister.
Failure to comply “may have implications for U.S. policy,” U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin reportedly wrote.
The retaliatory action will be “precise and deadly,” Israel’s defense minister vowed.
Israel’s defense minister made the comments during a tour of the IDF base where four soldiers were killed and many others wounded in a UAV strike.
