Sharon Liberman Mintz, of Jewish Theological Seminary, told JNS that the 1526 Haggadah “is one of the most exciting books that I have ever had the pleasure to turn the pages of.”
“We are looking for ways to expand future data studies beyond that but face human as well as financial resource constraints,” a representative of Foggy Bottom’s diversity and inclusion office told JNS.
“It surpassed any single prior fundraising event for the museum,” the museum’s president and CEO told JNS.
“Any organization that doesn’t treat Israel as a legitimate and contributing nation does not deserve U.S. support or participation,” the Tennessee Republican said.
“It appeared to be another disturbing, disrespectful attempt at delegitimizing Israel,” reader Bob Berman told JNS.
“It’s shocking today, where we have access to so much information to research,” a community activist told JNS of that medieval antisemitic trope. “People fall into the same traps.”

The singer and actor, who was president of ZOA’s California chapter, died on May 21 at the age of 95.
“It would be a tremendous shame—and a real disgrace—if the museum went forward with this conference,” said philanthropist Joel Greenberg. “It would be a stamp of approval.”
