Anti-Semitism is rearing its ugly head in other ways, he says—not just in temples, but in communities, and in local governments and schools, not to mention on campaign signs.
The pro-Israel educational organization’s conference, titled “Israel in Focus,” was attended by 550 students and community members.
“The threat of effective BDS right now is minimal, but if its message persuades a new generation of activists who will become social and political leaders, the movement could have a lot more bite,” said research analyst David May.

“The world hasn’t given Israel any favors; they haven’t treated the Jewish population well, but Israel is a thriving country nevertheless. I don’t know how you could come to Israel and not be impressed,” said Michael Dutch, professor of business management at Guilford College in North Carolina.

The bill has 59 co-sponsors, including one Democrat, Rep. Tom Suozzi of New York.
“We reaffirm that South Dakota stands with Israel and will contract with businesses who agree to fairly compete. Our state will not stand for any discrimination based on race or religion,” said Kristi Noem.
“Anti-Semitism is the ancient hatred, but can appear in new disguises,” said Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). “It festers on the Internet message boards and social media.”
The campaign website also states that “the U.S. government needs to stop enabling conflicts by reducing aid from nations committing human rights violations,” a reference implied of Israel.
