Congress

“Israel’s fight is the fight of the entire civilized world,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
A group founded by former Vice President Mike Pence organized a letter from more than 60 activists, politicians and thought leaders.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), who is leading a bipartisan delegation of U.S. senators in Israel, said that the Senate will act swiftly in the hopes that the House of Representatives will do the same.
The highest-ranking elected U.S. Jewish official will discuss resources that Washington can provide “to support Israel on all fronts.”
“We are united in our bipartisan commitment to ensure the U.S. Congress continues to stand alongside our closest ally in the Middle East,” said the IAC.
“I also call on President Biden to use the powers granted to him by Congress to provide Israel the resources she needs for Operation Swords of Iron,” said Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.).
On Saturday night, Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) issued a statement about “ongoing violence in Palestine and Israel,” in which she called for ending U.S. government support to Israel.
“Terrorism is never justified. Israel has a right to defend itself and its people. The United States warns against any other party hostile to Israel seeking advantage in this situation,” said U.S. President Joe Biden.
“Some communities don’t even know the program exists,” the New Jersey Democrat said.
“There was inappropriate use of the term without my consent,” said Rep. Jamaal Bowman.
Congress also voted overwhelmingly to keep the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem and maintain the terror designation of the IRGC.
The hearing focused on the nearly six-year-old Taylor Force Act, which blocks the United States from funding the Palestinian Authority unless it stops paying terrorists and their families.
