Rabbi Yosef Hamra plans to tell Congress that sanctions from the Assad era “obstruct the restoration of religious and cultural sites and impede efforts to preserve what remains of Syria’s Jewish heritage.”

The “lack of protection empowers the armed actors in Gaza, while forcing desperate civilians to risk their lives with no choice but to jump onto moving trucks to access aid,” the legislators wrote.
“The conclusion is inescapable,” the Vermont independent stated.
They say that requests for such probes have been ignored by previous administrations, and that the policy is continuing under U.S. President Donald Trump.
