A change.org petition urging the company to reconsider has already garnered more than 3,300 signatures.

“This situation grossly harms competition, while an attempt is made to seize a market share under the guise of political calculations,” said the letter by the heads of El Al, Israir and Arkia.
“Approval of the MOU is another step on the path towards signing a binding agreement,” said El Al chairman Amikam Ben-Zvi.
The airline had wanted to start the flights last year, but the coronavirus outbreak delayed those plans.
The Israel-Morocco flights “will help promote tourism, trade and fruitful economic and political cooperation between the two countries,” says Israel’s tourism minister.
The aid is an advance payment on tickets for airline security personnel posted at airports and will cover their travel for the next 20 years.
