A member of Hezbollah’s anti-tank array was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Arnoun area of southeastern Lebanon’s Nabatieh Governorate on Sunday, according to the Israeli Defense Forces.
Hours later, the military announced that it had struck and killed a terrorist in Hezbollah’s Artillery Array in the area of Ayta ash-Shab in Southern Lebanon.
The strikes come a day after the Israeli Air Force killed the regional commander of Hezbollah’s rocket array in the Deir al-Zahrani area of Southern Lebanon, the IDF said.
The terrorist killed in Saturday’s attack, identified by the IDF as Mohammad Ali Jamoul, was involved in rocket attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers, and had recently been involved in Hezbollah’s efforts to reestablish its infrastructure in Southern Gaza, the military said.
“Jamoul’s activities constituted a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the statement continued.
The Nov. 27, 2024, ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon ended more than a year of hostilities sparked by Hezbollah’s launching of attacks on the Jewish state starting on Oct. 8, 2023.
The terms of the ceasefire agreement require Hezbollah to vacate all areas south of the Litani River.
On Thursday, the IAF attacked a Hezbollah site in eastern Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley. The site held weapons and showed signs of Hezbollah efforts to rebuild it in the wake of previous IAF strikes, the military said at the time.
