Israel Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly prevented a disabled man from accessing a public bomb shelter during an Iranian missile attack while harassing and filming him, it announced on Sunday.
According to footage of the incident posted to social media, the suspect, a Bedouin Israeli, attempted to force the victim to declare, “Beersheva is for the Bedouin” while pulling his ear.
“Police officers arrested a resident of the Bedouin diaspora who, during the missile attack from Iran, uploaded a video to social media in which he harassed a person with a disability and prevented him from reaching a protected area,” police confirmed on Sunday afternoon.
“As soon as the video was received, Beersheva police opened a proactive investigation, as part of which the suspect was located and arrested by detectives in the city of Rahat,” it added, referencing a Bedouin city.
At least 10 people were killed overnight Saturday in a wave of Iranian missile attacks on civilian areas across Israel. Nearly 80 missiles were fired at Israel in two barrages, Hebrew media reported on Sunday. About 40 missiles were fired at the north, and 35 missiles targeted the central region.
