Israeli authorities have arrested a 13-year-old Tel Aviv resident on suspicion of carrying out missions for Iran, police announced on Tuesday.

The minor was allegedly contacted by Iranian agents via the Telegram messaging app and offered payment to perform various tasks.

According to police, the boy complied with some of the requests, including spraying graffiti in the Tel Aviv area in exchange for money. He was also asked to photograph the Iron Dome air-defense system, but did not carry out that assignment.

The arrest was made in a joint operation by the Tel Aviv District Fraud Division and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet). The boy was released to house arrest after questioning, with his parents kept informed throughout the investigation.
