Israel tied its second match of the under-20 soccer World Cup in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, and will now need a win in the final group-stage game on Saturday to have a chance of advancing.

The national squad drew 1-1 with Senegal, opening the scoring in La Plata in the 58th minute with an own goal by Babacar Ndiaye but conceding an equalizer by Pape Diop in the 80th.

Israel lost its first-ever game in the tournament on Sunday by 2-1, after a late goal from Colombia.

Colombia now leads Group C after a 2-1 win against Japan.

The top two teams from each group after three matches will advance to the next stage of the tournament.

Israel will now square off against Japan on May 27, meaning that to advance, the Israelis must not only win but also hope that Senegal doesn’t beat Colombia.
