Betsy Berns Korn, Chair, and William Daroff, chair and CEO respectively of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, stated on Sunday that they welcome the liberation of the remains of former Israeli soldier Hadar Goldin with “profound relief and gratitude.”
Goldin “gave his life defending Israel in 2014,” and Hamas held his body “cruelly” for 4,118 days, stated the leaders of the umbrella group of 50 national U.S. Jewish organizations. “We thank President Trump and his administration for their leadership and resolve in bringing Hadar home.”
“This moment affirms the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel and reflects our shared moral duty to ensure that no soldier remains behind,” they said.
The Conference of Presidents leaders also honored the memories of former Israeli soldiers Itay Chen and Omer Neutra, “both American citizens who fell on Oct. 7, 2023, and now rest in Israel’s soil.”
“May the memories of Hadar, Itay and Omer bless and inspire all who work and pray for peace, security and the safe return of every captive,” they said. “Today brings long-awaited closure to the families of Hadar, Itay and Omer. Our hearts remain with the families of those still in Hamas captivity. We will not stop, we will not rest, and we will not turn away until every hostage returns home.”
