Netanyahu meets with Ernst, Wasserman Schultz in Jerusalem

The Israeli prime minister thanked the members of Congress “for their personal and bipartisan support for the State of Israel throughout the war,” per an Israeli readout.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) in Jerusalem on Wednesday and thanked the members of Congress “for their personal and bipartisan support for the State of Israel throughout the war,” per an Israeli readout of the meeting.

Netanyahu also addressed “the continuous efforts being made for the release of the hostages and the fighting in Gaza until Hamas is destroyed and any future threat to Israel is prevented,” according to the Prime Minister’s Office. (JNS sought comment from Ernst and Wasserman Schultz.)

On April 14, Ernst and Wasserman Schultz met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates, in Abu Dhabi and “reaffirmed the strength and importance of the U.S.-UAE strategic partnership.”

The members of Congress and the Emirati president also “discussed shared efforts to promote regional security and stability for a safer, stronger and more prosperous world,” per the U.S. embassy in the United Arab Emirates.

“Iran is the head of the snake for global terrorism,” and the U.S. will target “anyone enabling Tehran’s attempts to evade sanctions,” the U.S. treasury secretary said.
“It is unbelievable that in the 21st century, arguments worthy of the dark ages are being used to blame the victims of their own Holocaust,” the Jewish Association of Peru stated.
“I am deeply concerned about the very real threats facing the Jewish community in Britain,” stated the chair of the Home Affairs Committee, part of the British House of Commons.
“I would like to take a special assignment of finding and prosecuting them,” one Justice Department prosecutor wrote, according to messages shared by Sen. Chuck Grassley.
The Birmingham Public Schools superintendent condemned the “inappropriate and offensive” stickers, stating that the district does “not tolerate intimidation, bullying, threats, discrimination or antisemitism in our schools.”
