The effort was led by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) and Rep. Van Taylor (R-Texas), who brought the legislation for endorsement, garnering support from 75 percent of the members.
Several U.S. allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, have already done so.
The Israeli prime minister thanked the members for supporting funding for the Iron Dome missile-defense system.
