It comes after the liberal Israel lobby group has been shunned for years by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“We all need to and can unite around the idea that we want to expand and deepen the circle of peace, and we all need and can unite around the basic principle that Israel has the right to defend itself,” said Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
The bill is still on track to go through the Senate in the coming days in a regular legislative process and is expected to pass overwhelmingly.
Nathan Diament, executive director for public policy at the Orthodox Union, was troubled that some Congress members had the “misguided view that a missile-defense system does anything other than defend innocent civilians from attacks launched by hostile terrorist groups.”
Said Rep. Chip Roy of Texas: “U.S. taxpayer dollars should never go to a corrupt entity that undermines, Israel, one of our greatest allies and closest friends.”
The House Republican freshman trip and a bipartisan delegation of members of the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees will be now rescheduled for February.

“Anti-Semitism is out of control. It’s become normalized. It’s everywhere,” said Olivia Dolgin of Virginia. “It’s in Congress, it’s in the universities, it’s in the school systems. The media is posting lies, distortions and insulting everybody. They have weaponized anti-Semitism.”
“Anti-Semitism is not just a Republican problem or a Democrat problem ... the fight against anti-Semitism bridges the political divide. United we stand, divided we fall,” said Republican Jewish Coalition chairman and former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman.

The campaign came as a result of nationwide attacks on Jews and increasing concerns for the security of day schools and other institutions.
Democratic strategist Steve Rabinowitz told JNS that while he personally would not have chosen Rep. Ilhan Omar for the committee, Democrats are likely not calling for her removal because “the world is not just Israel and the Palestinians.”
