The SRE Network, formerly the Safety Respect Equity Coalition, a group of about 160 organizations that address gender-based harassment, discrimination and inequity, announced on Tuesday that it will award about $300,000 in grants to eight Jewish nonprofits.

Funding will help the nonprofits “build on their existing efforts to prevent harassment and discrimination and support safe, respectful and equitable workplaces and communal spaces,” per an SRE release. “Grantees will have access to funding and expert practitioners to support their unique efforts, each of which has the potential to scale.”

The group received more than 40 applications for the eight spots.

The grantees are ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal; Footsteps; Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life; Jewish Federations of North America; Mishkan Chicago; Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies; SketchPad; and Yeshivat Maharat.
