After grappling with an anti-Israel teacher-training course being offered in their school district, a group of Jewish students outside Chicago form a new club to demonstrate pride in their heritage.
Since researchers made their first discovery back in 2008, the entire collection of remains includes three teeth, a pinky bone and a lower jaw.
“His tenure has strengthened and renewed all that has made JTS a pre-eminent center for Jewish learning and scholarship, while bringing the kind of transformation needed to speak to and lead a rapidly changing Jewish world,” said board of trustees chair Alan Levine.
The event “Conflict Over Gaza: People, Politics and Possibilities” reportedly used $5,000 of federal taxpayer funds from the U.S. Education Department.
“This is something you don’t see anywhere else. Full-time engineering students who also spend several hours a day studying a 1,500-year-old text in small print. China has no such thing,” said one of the visitors.
The schools had been recognized as a educational institution that could receive funding from the education ministry.
Through wine, tourists can get to know Israel through history, archaeology, agriculture, culinary arts, food and technology.
It stated that “the current draft model curriculum falls short and needs to be substantially redesigned.” Pro-Israel groups applauded the decision, though vowed to keep watch on the matter.
It has established a Facebook group, launched a petition for Californians to express their opposition and offered a public comment template that streamlines the process for community members to voice their concerns to the Instructional Quality Commission.
“If not addressed, this problem threatens to undermine not only the current effort to develop an ethnic studies model curriculum, but all other curricular efforts undertaken by the Department of Education,” continued a letter signed by 83 organizations.
The funds, which will be allocated over a period of five years, will facilitate dozens of research programs each year in a variety of fields, expanding on the handful currently being carried out.
