Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with Israeli Ambassador Shmuel Revel in Manama on Thursday as part of continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries amid regional uncertainty.
“His Royal Highness reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unwavering commitment to advancing the principles of peace and mutual coexistence,” Bahrain’s Royal Palace said in a statement. “During the meeting, the latest regional and international developments were discussed.”
The talks aimed to reinforce diplomatic ties and discuss ways to expand economic cooperation, framed as a continuation of bilateral engagement following the normalization of relations between Israel and Bahrain under the Abraham Accords in 2020, according to the Israeli embassy.
The discussions emphasized the importance of maintaining open and direct channels of communication, particularly amid ongoing regional uncertainty, it said, adding that both parties underscored the value of steady coordination and mutual consultation as a foundation for the bilateral relationship.

The meeting came a week after Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar congratulated King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Bahraini people on the kingdom’s National Day. Sa’ar praised Bahrain’s participation in the Abraham Accords and underscored continued cooperation based on dialogue and partnership.
Revel assumed his post as Israel’s ambassador to Bahrain in August, after previously serving as ambassador to Cyprus from 2017 to 2021. His predecessor, Eitan Na’eh, was Israel’s first ambassador to Bahrain following the establishment of diplomatic ties.
Israel and Bahrain normalized relations in 2020 as part of the U.S.-brokered Abraham Accords, which also led to Israel establishing diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Sudan.
