Graham talks Israeli normalization on third visit since Oct. 7

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Sunday in Tel Aviv thanked Sen. Lindsey Graham (R- S.C.) for his support of the Jewish state.

Describing the meeting with the South Carolina legislator as “excellent,” Katz tweeted that he had expressed his gratitude “for his support for the State of Israel from the first moment of the war and for its right to defend itself,” adding that he had discussed with Graham “the possibility of promoting normalization and regional initiatives led by the U.S. to strengthen Israel’s security and promote peace.”

Graham is a strong supporter of Israel and has visited the country many times. He is on his third trip to the Jewish state since the Hamas terrorist attacks in the southwestern Negev on Oct. 7.

He tweeted on Friday, the day before International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Jan. 27, that “it is important to do more than just remember. We must act in a decisive way to ensure the survival of the one and only Jewish state. The Jewish people should never suffer again as they did during the Holocaust. The best way to honor the victims of the Holocaust is to make sure Israel survives and thrives, making peace with its neighbors and remaining strong in the face of its adversaries. God Bless Israel and the Jewish people.”

Graham’s second visit to Israel during the war took place earlier this month, during which he announced that he would resume efforts to forge a normalization agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel, saying that the Hamas terrorist attack on Oct. 7 only made him more determined to pursue this goal.
