Israel and Morocco bolster cybersecurity and intel ties

The two countries also agreed to expand cooperation in air defense and electronic warfare, the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces said.

Israel’s Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that the first annual defense establishment Steering Committee meeting in conjunction with Morocco was held in Rabat, where the two countries decided to strengthen military ties.

“Since the resumption of diplomatic relations & the signing of a defense MOU, the parties have deepened & expanded their defense &military ties as well as the defense-industrial field,” the ministry tweeted.

“Cooperation is expected to continue expanding in the future in the face of common challenges,” it added.

Following defense negotiations in Rabat, Morocco’s army stated Tuesday that it has agreed with Israel to increase military cooperation, including in intelligence and cybersecurity.

The two countries “agreed to further strengthen cooperation and expand it to other areas, including in intelligence, air defense and electronic warfare,” the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces said in a statement.

The two-day discussion focused on military cooperation, including in “logistics, training and the acquisition and modernization of equipment.”

A spokesperson for the organization told JNS that the updated report includes “anything that pertains to Zionism and Israel, including the ‘loyalty test’ for its members and declarations that show support or justification for terrorism, and that target Jewish people.”
“No one prosecuted these plaintiffs, fined them or sent them so much as a stern letter,” Mark Goldfeder of the National Jewish Advocacy Center told JNS. “They silenced themselves and then sued over the silence.”
The Anti-Defamation League told JNS that “the letter contains explicit, threatening language targeting Jewish people and relies on vile antisemitic tropes that have historically been used to incite violence.”
