New Israeli strikes target Isfahan nuclear facility

Iran launched a salvo of ballistic missiles toward Israel shortly after the IDF announced the attack on the Iranian enrichment facility.

The Israel Defense Forces struck an Iranian nuclear facility in Isfahan in a new wave of airstrikes on Friday that also struck Iranian rocket launchers and drone infrastructure.

The IDF wrote that multiple jets destroyed parts of the Isfahan complex involved in further processing and enriching uranium toward weapons-grade material.

“The attack destroyed a structure for producing metallic uranium, infrastructure for converting enriched uranium, laboratories and other infrastructure,” the IDF stated.

After the attack, Iran launched ballistic missiles toward Israel, and the IDF said that it is working to intercept the incoming barrage.

The strike on Isfahan follows Israel’s massive overnight sorties targeting Iranian military leaders and its nuclear program, including Iran’s main enrichment facility at Natanz.

Iran’s state-run Fars News Agency also reported explosions at Fordow, where Iran has buried a nuclear facility hundreds of feet beneath a mountain.

Gen. Eyal Zamir, IDF chief of the general staff, stated earlier on Friday that both offensive and defensive operations are ongoing.

“We are continuing with full force, at a high pace, in order to meet the goals we have set for ourselves,” Zamir said. “There will be difficult moments. We need to be prepared for the range of scenarios we have planned for; very high readiness and discipline are required on the home front.”

In a subsequent social-media post, the IDF said that it had launched new strikes on Iranian rocket launchers and drone infrastructure.

Unconfirmed videos on social media show explosions in Tehran and other Iranian cities early in the evening local time.

The blind spot could leave less time to prepare for increasingly dangerous heat events.
We “will continue to remove threats and strengthen the defense of Israel’s northern residents,” the army said.
The subject of Tehran’s nuclear project was deferred to further negotiations after Iran and the U.S. signed an initial memorandum of understanding.
The Alpine country said it welcomes the signing of the framework memorandum and will host American and Iranian delegations at a mountaintop resort.
