“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling voiced support for Iranian protesters and condemned antisemitism in a widely shared post on social media on Jan. 11.

“If you claim to support human rights yet can’t bring yourself to show solidarity with those fighting for their liberty in Iran, you’ve revealed yourself,” Rowling stated.

“You don’t give a damn about people being oppressed and brutalized so long as it’s being done by the enemies of your enemies,” she added.

In response to someone who called her a “shill for Jewish supremacy,” Rowling said that “Iranian citizens braver than you could dream of being are sacrificing their lives in the fight for their own liberation, and all you can find to say is ‘it’s the Jews’ fault.’”

“You’re beyond parody,” she said.
