Speaking at the EMET annual gala, Fetterman said the more people “back away from Israel,” the more he would “lean in stronger.”
“If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now,” the pro-Israel Democratic senator said.
A WJC spokesperson told JNS the organization is “grateful for both of their commitments to working across party lines to support Jewish Americans and the State of Israel.”
“No student should feel like they must risk their safety to exercise their First Amendment rights to peacefully assemble and freely practice their religion,” wrote Sens. John Fetterman and Dave McCormick.

“I refuse to turn my back on Israel,” the senator from Pennsylvania said, adding that many of his fellow Democrats “have lost their way, but I will continue to be that voice in my party.”
“The real beeper is like one-tenth the weight—it’s nothing,” the Israeli prime minister told the senator from Pennsylvania. “But it changes history.”
Dan Senor, who interviewed the senator on his Call Me Back podcast, told JNS that Fetterman “is a deeply empathetic person.”
The pro-Israel Democratic senator from Pennsylvania talked about Gaza and Israel on journalist Tara Palmeri’s podcast “Somebody’s Gotta Win.”
“The threats and attacks against Jewish students since Oct. 7 are despicable,” stated Sen. Bill Cassidy, who introduced the bill with Sen. John Fetterman.
