The pro-Israel Pennsylvania senator told an interviewer that it was the Hezbollah terrorist’s fault that his child was killed bringing him his pager.
After the former president’s keynote at the Israeli-American Council’s annual summit, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) called for bipartisan support for Israel.
Peter Savodnik, of “The Free Press,” wrote that this is the first time he experienced a staffer criticizing his or her boss.
“I didn’t support withholding any of those large bombs because they have to fight an enemy that hides in tunnels,” the Pennsylvania senator told JNS. “I trust Israel’s judgment.”
“We stand with Israel. I’m so sorry for what’s been done to this nation, but I’m just honored to be here today,” said Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.)
“I don’t really believe I should be thanked for just doing my job,” the Pennsylvania senator told the Israeli president.
The Pennsylvania senator had told “Jewish Insider” in April 2022 that he would visit Israel “as rapidly as possible and make sure I see firsthand the dynamic on the ground.”
The pro-Israel senator had a “bruised shoulder,” and the two “were discharged that afternoon,” a spokesperson for the senator told JNS.
“I have been profoundly disappointed with Harvard’s inability to stand up for the Jewish community,” the pro-Israel senator said.
“You’re always welcome back to my office,” the Pennsylvania senator told the more than 100 Yeshiva University students who visited him in Washington.
Three of Sen. John Fetterman’s top communications staffers have left his office in the past month.
