The U.S.-brokered agreement would see an initial 50 or more women and children freed in smaller batches every 24 hours in exchange for a five-day pause in fighting.
Neither side has agreed to the details of Qatar’s latest proposal.
The outcome of the discussion, which included talks on a possible halt to Israel’s military campaign against Hamas terrorists, was unclear.
“Qatar—one of the most vocal pro-Hamas, antisemitic countries in the world—has given over $1 billion to U.S. universities from 2011 to 2016,” said Rep. Michelle Steel (R-Calif.).
The Israeli Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister’s Office declined comment.
Bob Blackman, chair of the All-Party Britain-Israel Parliamentary Group, told JNS that “Al Jazeera” should be investigated as well.
The Israeli military also presented evidence of terrorist activities at the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza.
“This is a cry for help,” one of the organizers told JNS.
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett took issue with Tzachi Hanegbi’s comments, saying, “Qatar is the enemy itself.”
Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) led the effort, which included 63 Democrats and 53 Republicans.
U.S. President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and other officials appear to be shifting their tone somewhat.
