Christians United for Israel (CUFI) announced this week that former vice president and current presidential candidate Mike Pence will attend the group’s annual Washington Summit, speaking on Friday at 7 p.m.

Pastor John Hagee, CUFI’s founder and chairman, said “I’ve known Vice President Pence for years. He is a courageous and righteous leader, as well as a stalwart defender of Israel.”

Other politicians participating in the event include GOP presidential contender Nikki Haley; House Majority Whip Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.); Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.); and Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.).

Sandra Parker, CUFI’s Action Fund chair, said, “This year’s CUFI Washington Summit comes at a pivotal time for Israel and the U.S. The Russia-Iran-China axis is on the march, and the terrorists and war criminals backed by Tehran are growing ever stronger. It is incumbent upon all those who stand with Israel to speak out at this critical time in history.”

“This is our real national team,” Belgian lawmaker and former Iranian political prisoner Darya Safai told JNS, pointing to shirts honoring Iranians killed during anti-government protests.
The agreement commits Washington to respect Israeli sovereignty and limits future sanctions against listed Israelis and organizations, the NGO says.
Israel will not tolerate attacks on its troops and will maintain its security zone in Southern Lebanon, the PM said.
The U.S. ambassador said Hezbollah—not Jerusalem—is responsible for preventing a ceasefire from taking hold.
“I felt that I had to contribute more,” police Sgt. 1st Class Alkarnawi, 23, told JNS.
The national security minister called for an overwhelming response following the killing of four IDF soldiers in Lebanon.
