“The U.N. has continuously betrayed Israel and betrayed America, acting as an apologist for Iran and their terrorist proxies,” the New York congresswoman said at an EMET event.
“We could not support an unconditional ceasefire that failed to release the hostages,” Robert Wood, the deputy U.S. ambassador to the global body, told the council.
In June, the United States shepherded through the council a resolution that called for both a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

“UNIFIL has a hard time saying who the armed people denying them freedom of movement might be. Hezbollah,” wrote Matthew Levitt, of the Washington Institute.
“We’re a team of about 25 people, and there are maybe 1,000 people that wake up every morning in New York to attack us,” Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon tells JNS.
Member states that really want peace “should seek to end the persistent bias within the United Nations against Israel,” said Nicholas Koval, a U.S. political adviser to the global body.
U.N. official Bertrand Ramcharan called her a “pillar of the human-rights movement.”
