The secretary-general “couldn’t bring himself to mention” that Israeli citizens have been “relentlessly attacked by the Houthis,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The missile was downed outside of Israeli airspace.
“This is about preventing them from hitting commercial and, quite frankly, naval ship activity in and around the Red Sea” and protecting Israel, John Kirby told reporters.
Missiles could offer a rapid fire capability against Houthi bases and infrastructure, but should only be one part of a massive international attack.
The strikes came during a televised address by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.
No injuries were reported in the UAV attack.
"[Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, do you think you will do to us what you did to Hezbollah?” threatens Muhammad Ali al-Houthi.
The contract is valued in the billions of shekels.
“The Security Council must stand with Israel and condemn these attacks,” said Danny Danon, Israel’s U.N. ambassador.
“For the 5th time in a week, millions of Israelis were sent to shelter as Houthi terrorists in Yemen launched a missile attack,” the IDF said.
“The Houthis pose a threat not only to Israel but to the region and the entire world,” Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said in a statement.
The missile was intercepted outside of Israeli territory, according to the IDF.
