In the postponement of an event featuring a controversial speaker, Hillel president at Butler University Lauren Carrier said the school newspaper “has a duty to make sure that information that is published is factually accurate.”
A similar bill was proposed in February but tabled due to concern over a clause that denounced the BDS movement and questioned Palestinian human rights. The new bill removed the clause.

New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Yang said he has an issue with organizations that don’t disavow “very, very violent tactics” towards Israel, though he doesn’t have an issue with individuals or activists “making a case for what they think is right.”
A BDS supporter, she has accused Israel of “apartheid” and was one of the few members of Congress to vote against the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006, which aimed to curb and defund Hamas.
The group is now “against the existence of the U.S. and Canada, calling it ‘occupied Turtle Island.’ It is undoubtedly a significant development, and we are monitoring it closely,” the Canary Mission told JNS.
Andrew Yang, now a candidate for New York City’s top job, has said that “a Yang administration will push back against the BDS movement, which singles out Israel for unfair economic punishment.”
“Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. Not denouncing BDS is anti-Semitism,” said Student Association member Noah Wagner.
