News about economic and academic attacks against the Jewish state

A German politician is outraged that Rasmea Odeh, a member of the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine convicted of a Jerusalem bombing that killed two students, is slated to address an event in Berlin.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society is a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies associated with the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The focus of the three-day event was on educating and inspiring the next generation of advocates for the Jewish state.
“Cornell is not primarily an agent to direct social or political action, but rather a neutral forum for analysis, debate and the search for truth,” said Martha Pollack.
“This unabashed support for such a despicable organization is deeply disturbing and is a direct attack on the campus’s Jewish communities. It should be condemned by all who seek peace in the Middle East,” said CAMERA campus coordinator Zac Schildcrout.
“The pro-Israel students at Columbia deserve enormous credit. They prove that the truth about Israel is still compelling, and that unity is still powerful,” said Maccabee Task Force executive director David Brog.
“It’s shameful that Canadian university students are using Western platforms to discriminate against the Jewish people and the only democratic state in the Middle East: Israel,” said Avi Benlolo, president and CEO of the Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
Announcing the launch of a Global Mayors Coalition Against Hate, Antisemitism and BDS were Mayor Uwe Becker of Frankfurt, Germany; Mayor Gabriel Groisman of Bal Harbour, Fla.; and Mayor Haim Bibas of Modi’in-Maccabim-Reut in Israel.
“It is unthinkable that terrorists who present themselves as human-rights activists are going around European parliaments receiving legitimacy and funding from them,” said Israeli Minister Public Security and Strategic Affairs Gilad Erdan.
JVP’s Deadly Exchange program has close ties to the BDS National Council, a group that serves as the Palestinian arm of the BDS movement and helps coordinate international BDS efforts.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s move was lauded by Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon, who said he hoped it would “be emulated by other states and other countries in the world.”
The anti-BDS component of the legislation has divided Democrats.
