The U.S. president called Xi’s pledge not to send military equipment to Tehran “a big statement.”
The U.S. administration expects “conversation to continue” on Chinese revenue and dual-use exports benefiting Tehran, a senior U.S. official said before meetings in China.
“The targeting of U.S. service members and partners will not go unanswered,” the U.S. State Department said.
“Antisemitism on the left is a well-known problem. ... Now what has been revealed is we have also a problem on the right.”
The cargo reportedly comprised dual-use items, ones with potential applications in civilian and military fields, which could be used in Iran’s missile program.
“The Trump administration’s actions to date have failed to deter Beijing from supporting Tehran’s offensive weapons programs,” two Democrats wrote to the CIA and U.S. State Department.
“Palestine is very bad to Taiwan” because it aligns with Beijing’s “One-China” principle, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-Lung said.
“Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our nuclear weapons on an equal basis,” the U.S. president said.
