The organization supporting one of the Jewish state’s most important artistic ambassadors just announced new leadership.

“Together, we will continue to foster cultural exchange, nurture artistic excellence and amplify the transformative impact of this iconic orchestra,” said Jennifer Ritvo Hughes, incoming CEO of the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO). “I look forward to building bridges of harmony and helping AFIPO continue to grow and thrive in a rapidly evolving philanthropic and cultural landscape.”

Hughes has considerable musical experience. She earned a master’s degree in musicology at Brandeis University and most recently worked for the Boston Baroque orchestra as its executive director.

Outgoing CEO Danielle Ames Spivak said, “As I step down as CEO to spend more time with my family, I’m overwhelmed with love for the friends I have made.”

She added that the “last 12 years have been fulfilling and meaningful, and I look forward to staying involved as a member and supporter of AFIPO.”

The 27-year-old gave police a falsified driver’s license when stopped while suspiciously patrolling Paris streets.
In recent weeks, Israeli forces struck over 1,100 Hezbollah targets, the military said.
“I know that his legacy and his message will live on,” the Israeli president said of the longtime ADL director.
Tyler Oliveira was stopped at Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion International Airport and deported back to the United States.
The move “is a further sign of weakness and will not succeed,” the Israeli prime minister warned.
Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba said he was saddened by the death of ADL’s national director emeritus, calling him a leading voice against antisemitism, hate and extremism.
