Eyal Zamir

The incoming IDF chief is devising a plan to “eradicate Hamas” with more than 50,000 soldiers and a reduction of aid, Israeli sources say.
“I expect from Eyal Zamir, during his service, and perhaps very soon, that we will see ... major achievements, which will change not only the status of Israel but the face of the entire Middle East,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“This war has demonstrated that we must be self-reliant,” Director General and designated IDF Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. (res.) Eyal Zamir said.
The new military chief will step into the shoes of Herzi Halevi, who has commanded the military during the 16-month war against Hamas in Gaza.
The defense minister is interviewing three candidates for the formidable challenge of restructuring the military while facing active combat.
“This substantial investment will significantly strengthen critical systems, such as Iron Dome and David’s Sling,” the Israeli Ministry of Defense stated.
“Israel has the ability to take out Iran’s nuclear program. I have seen the plans,” says former IDF deputy chief of staff Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir.
The Israel Defense Forces’ deputy chief of staff has one mission these days: bringing the pandemic to its knees. “The military cannot sit on the sidelines when Israel is dealing with an unprecedented event,” he asserts.
