The Israel Air Force attacked an observation post of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Southern Lebanon on Thursday.

The presence of the observation post, located in the Aynata area just across the Lebanon border, constituted a violation of the truce understandings between Jerusalem and Beirut, the military stressed in a statement.

On Wednesday, the Israeli Air Force carried out a strike on the Lebanese-Syrian border targeting a key terrorist in Hezbollah’s Unit 4400, who was said to be responsible for weapons smuggling.

Mahran Ali Nasser al-Din played a major role in Hezbollah’s weapons smuggling operations, and was “directly involved in coordinating with smugglers operating along the Syria-Lebanon border,” the IDF said.

The terrorist was attacked after “repeatedly violating the [truce] understandings between Israel and Lebanon, including his involvement in the transfer of arms to the Hezbollah terror group,” the military said.

Unit 4400 continues to transfer weapons to Hezbollah “in a manner that poses a threat to the security of the State of Israel, in blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the statement added.

The previous day, the IDF struck a Hezbollah production and storage facility for “strategic weapons” in the Beqaa Valley, some 30 miles east of Beirut.

Tuesday’s strike was conducted after Hezbollah terrorists were identified as operating within the facility, according to the IDF.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem stressed in an address on Sunday that the current ceasefire with the Jewish state, which went into effect on Nov. 27, is “not the end” of the Iranian-backed terrorist group.

Speaking via video link at the funeral of his predecessor Hassan Nasrallah he declared: “We agreed to the enemy’s request for a ceasefire because the resistance and Lebanon have no interest in continuing the disproportionate fight without any military or political progress.”
