Israel, US launch joint naval drill

“Intrinsic Defender” aims to boost cooperation between the Israeli Navy and U.S. 5th Fleet and sharpen responses to regional maritime threats.

Israel and the United States began their annual joint naval exercise, “Intrinsic Defender,” on Sunday, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

Dozens of service members from the Israeli Navy and U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet are participating in the drill, which “aims to strengthen strategic and operational cooperation between the two naval forces, and practice responses to various regional threats.”

The war games will continue throughout the week.

“The problem is money and politics,” the New Jersey senator told JNS. “And I think I want to lead by example.”
