Black Eyed Peas lead member defies Palestinian pressure to boycott Israel

Will.i.am spoke about his personal connection to Israelis, about Hebrew in one of the band’s songs and his interest in the high-tech industry.

Black Eyed Peas lead band member will.i.am said he would not get into politics after Palestinian activists pressured him not to perform in Israel.

He also has links to Israel’s booming high-tech industry. His i.am+tech firm bought an Israeli startup in 2016, and he has made many visits to the country concerning the industry.

“I’m a musician and a tech enthusiast, and people like our music. Do I turn my back on people that live here because of politics? No, that’s not the way we were built,” he told the AP before his concert in Jerusalem on Monday.

“So, you know, there’s beautiful people here as well as beautiful people in Palestine. And one day we want to go there, too,” he said.

Will.i.am spoke about his personal connection to Israelis and how at the beginning of the band’s activities in Los Angeles, they would make music in an Israeli friend’s home and take part in Shabbat dinners there. The Black Eyed Peas has also collaborated on a song with Israeli music stars.

According to the report, one of the group’s hits, “I Gotta Feeling,” includes some Hebrew.

“The whole world has seen Iran was building up a conventional capability where they would have so many missiles and so many drones that they could overwhelm anybody’s defenses,” the U.S. secretary of state said.
“We degraded Iran’s ability to project power outside its borders and threaten the region and threaten our interests,” Adm. Brad Cooper stated.
The City Hall rep told JNS that the New York City mayor decries “displays of support for terrorist organizations.”
Isaac Herzog made no mention of recent opposition to his receiving an honorary doctorate and addressing students in his letter to the Conservative Jewish seminary.
“They feel that on the ashes of an incinerated civilization, they will rise to their paradise,” Edwin Black told JNS, prior to a talk he gave in Los Angeles.
The Combat Antisemitism Movement said that it has documented 2,543 antisemitic incidents worldwide since the start of January.
