“This region is the heart of our shared Judeo-Christian heritage,” the members of Congress wrote to the U.S. president.
“The communities in Judea and Samaria are the protective wall of most of the State of Israel,” said Defense Minister Israel Katz.
“Jewish roots in this region span centuries and we must recognize that fact in both word and deed,” wrote the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
“This region is the heart of our shared Judeo-Christian heritage and recognition of the right of Israel to declare sovereignty over this region would build upon your previous recognition of the importance of this heritage,” the letter reads.
Israel has an “absolute right to determine what happens in Judea and Samaria,” said Sen. Ted Cruz.
