The United States reportedly refused to agree to text of a resolution criticizing Israel for demolishing buildings in a P.A.-controlled area of eastern Jerusalem.
The two legislative items seek to build the American-Israel relationship and to put the stop on collaborating with terror groups and their affiliates. Both are on their way to the Senate.
“It’s wonderful to have the greatest power on earth not opposing the Jewish state, but supporting the Jewish state,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Real estate agents note that the sense of danger and insecurity among Diaspora Jews is prompting them to buy homes in the Jewish state.
The existence of the Jewish state ensures that “the entire region remains pro-Western and pro-American,” the prime minister says, adding that Israel is the only country in the world that doesn’t ask for “American boots on the ground” to fight on its behalf.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said, “as a Democratic Jew, I think it is incumbent upon us to have dialogue with a new generation of leaders who may not know history. But I wouldn’t overstate things and say that Democrats suddenly don’t support Israel.”
“There is a new efflorescence, a new renaissance of relations between us and many of our Arab neighbors, and many non-Arab Muslim countries,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
As sanctions cripple the Iranian economy and the Trump administration ends oil waivers for certain countries, Tehran is lashing back, including with threats of closing the Strait of Hormuz.
“Israel, we have shared values. Our friend in the Middle East for a long time—our only friend, our most serious partner in the Middle East, let me put it that way,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). “So Israel’s security is very, very important to us.”
“The international community must understand that Hamas is responsible for hiding behind Gazans to carry out its terror attacks. Hamas leaders hide while using their own population as human shields,” said B’nai B’rith International president Charles Kaufman and CEO Daniel Mariaschin.
The first stage of the Emergency Volunteers Project consists of a fully equipped, mobile kitchen that can provide up to 1,000 hot meals daily.
This was in response to nine Jewish groups calling on the president on Friday to stop Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from carrying out his campaign promise to annex parts of the West Bank.
