The clash between Jewish organizations and progressive political groups manifested in the California region East of San Francisco.

The Alameda County Democratic Central Committee (ACDCC) released a “Resolution Affirming ACDCC Support and Solidarity with the Palestinian People.” The document accuses Israel of genocide, perpetuates falsehoods from unreliable sources and shares Hamas propaganda.

The group’s statement refuses to call Hamas a terrorist organization. The ACDCC Zoom meeting about the issue featured participants promoting antisemitic comments with one displaying a swastika.

The JCRC Bay Area released a statement in response. “At a time of rising hatred against the Jewish community, this grandstanding does nothing to bring Israelis and Palestinians closer to peace,” CEO Tyler Gregory said. “We are grateful to the near-unanimous position of the state and federally elected officials representing Alameda County who refused to support this toxic resolution.”

Gregory called it “deeply disturbing that Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price and Assemblymember Alex Lee were both in support.” He noted the “400 percent rise in reported antisemitism since October 7” and that “this raises real questions about their commitment to the safety of Jews in Alameda County.”

“Vandalizing the World War II Memorial is an outrageous insult to all who served and Holocaust survivors, as well as all Americans and the values for which our country stands,” Sara J. Bloomfield, director of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, told JNS.
Forum HaGevura (“The Heroism Forum”) warned in the letter, a copy of which the group provided to JNS, that Hamas was exploiting the fact that Israel stopped taking the initiative in Gaza.
Board of Peace envoy Nickolay Mladenov denies claims of a financial deal with the terror group.
The mayor is not “an isolated New York phenomenon,” a Rockland County, N.Y., activist told JNS.
