American Jewish Congress applauds Joe Biden’s historic selection of Sen. Kamala Harris as vice presidential running mate

“We look forward to working with [Kamala Harris] and Vice President Biden in the weeks and months ahead on issues relating to Israel’s security and to stemming rising anti-Semitic sentiment here at home,” American Jewish Congress President Jack Rosen said.

As an organization dedicated for more than a century to equality and social justice for all Americans, the American Jewish Congress applauds former Vice President Joe Biden’s selection of U.S. Senator Kamala Harris as his Democratic running mate in the 2020 Presidential Election.

Calling her selection “timely and urgent“ given the ongoing calls for social justice in America, American Jewish Congress President Jack Rosen said, “Kamala Harris is the right woman at the right moment. Our nation has been rocked by inequities and abuses in recent years, spawning powerful movements for gender and racial equality. Kamala Harris is a voice that can help bring America together again on issues of fundamental justice.”

“I am particularly gratified by Senator Harris’ longtime support for the State of Israel,” Rosen added. “We look forward to working with her and Vice President Biden in the weeks and months ahead on issues relating to Israel’s security and to stemming rising anti-Semitic sentiment here at home.”
