Nour, or “Noah,” Mohamed, 35, allegedly sent a photo from the 2014 video of ISIS beheading journalist James Foley, along with the message, “We are coming for you,” to Sydney’s Executive Council of Australian Jewry on Oct. 12, days after Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in Israel.

Having chosen to send the terrorist threat from his own Instagram account, which featured his photo, it wasn’t long before police placed him under arrest.

An unwise social-media communication is not the only charge he faces. Mohamed allegedly assaulted a person on Oct. 8 and engaged in further online harassment on Oct. 27.

Held in prison since November, Mohamed reportedly has refused a public defender, went on a hunger strike and made accusations against police. He requested release at court on Wednesday and offered to plead guilty to a charge of “offensive behavior in public,” but the judge told him he would need to file a new bail application if he wanted to leave.

His matter was adjourned until Feb. 21.

Australia has recently made it illegal to publicly perform “Sieg Heil” salutes or display Nazi symbols. Since Oct. 7, antisemitic incidents in the country have surged 591%.

The “failed approach” to lasting peace between the countries has “allowed terrorist groups to entrench and enrich themselves, undermine the authority of the Lebanese state and endanger Israel’s northern border,” said State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott.
“One has to wonder how that humble pie tastes for the Democrats today,” Sam Markstein of the Republican Jewish Coalition told JNS.
