We reacted to the Nazi horrors by trying to convince ourselves, and the rest of the world, that the Holocaust was a crime against humanity instead of a battle in the ancient war to destroy the Jewish people.
It wasn’t the German people who were responsible for the Nazis, we liked to think.
But like the Germans who cheered on or remained silent about the Nazi genocide, Palestinian Arabs and their supporters around the world are today doing the same with respect to Hamas.
“Never Again” is unconditional, our pledge to fight any reemergence of the beast.
And the beast has returned.
