From 2018 through last year, hate crimes against Jews rose from 253 to 477, an increase of 89%.
“Members of the community are not happy. They feel threatened and insecure. The number of Jews who are considering moving to Israel is on the rise,” says Israeli Consul-General Paul Hirschson.
Jennifer Donelan, a spokeswoman for the Maryland attorney general, said the Muslim community was being consulted to identify a new commission member.
