IAEA: Iran in compliance with nuclear deal

However, Iran has quadrupled its production of low-enriched uranium, according to recent media reports.

Iran is in compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal in terms of uranium enrichment, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, a worldwide nuclear watchdog, reported Reuters on Friday.

Under the deal, the Islamic Republic’s uranium stockpile decreased 98 percent to 660 pounds, a maximum that remains until 2031. The enrichment level must remain at 3.67 percent.

However, Iran has quadrupled its production of low-enriched uranium, according to recent media reports.

The United States withdrew from the nuclear accord in May 2018 and reimposed sanctions lifted under it, in addition to enacting new financial penalties on Iran.
