Three Palestinians were wounded during an exchange of gunfire with Israeli troops in Jenin on Tuesday, according to Palestinian media reports.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that 11 wanted suspects were arrested in overnight raids throughout Judea and Samaria.

Security personnel entered the village of Burqin, near Jenin, early Tuesday to arrest a man accused of shooting at Israeli soldiers. During the operation, there was an exchange of gunfire with “hits detected.” Gunmen shot at a military vehicle and threw an explosive device as troops were leaving.

Two terrorism suspects were also captured during an arrest raid in the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp next to Jericho, according to the IDF. During this raid, an exchange of gunfire occurred and soldiers used measures to disperse the rioters.

Other arrests were made across Judea and Samaria and weapons were confiscated.

No soldiers were hurt during the raids.

The clashes come amid increased tensions between Israel and Palestinian terrorist factions. Five days of fighting with Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip officially ended on Saturday night with an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire, although terrorists violated the truce several times with rocket launches to which Israel responded by targeting terrorist sites in the Strip.

This Thursday’s Jerusalem Day flag march through the capital’s Old City will pose a significant test for the recently brokered ceasefire agreement.
