The United States has between 60,000 and 70,000 U.S. troops are in the Middle East, according to U.S. Central Command, which oversees U.S. military operations in the region.
To that end, ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Oman and Bahrain met with Victoria Coates, deputy national security adviser for Middle East and North Africa.
“It is unacceptable that federal funds could be used to implement an academic boycott that directly contravenes the purposes for which these funds have been granted. Area studies programs whose directors or affiliated faculty engage in such behavior should be ineligible to receive or renew Title VI funding.”
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon criticized the international community for not acknowledging Jewish refugees from Middle Eastern countries, in addition to Palestinian refugees.
The journalist, a prominent figure in his home country, said there is “no escape from establishing normal relations with Israel,” and that those relations must be different that the ones Israel has with Jordan or Egypt.
Near the Bedouin town of Rahat, the operations currently has 1,500 employees and will hire 1,000 more workers for the expansion.
The Middle East and foreign policy were topics on the table in the latest round of deliberations related to government and the future U.S. presidency.

The president also held out hope for a $100 billion trade deal between Washington and Ankara, saying “our markets are open.”
“I believe Israelis will come to visit after the Expo,” said a senior official in the UAE’s Ministry of Tourism. “Even now, we have a few Israelis visiting us, and we will be happy to accommodate Israeli tourists.”
