Palestinians reignite ‘March of Return’ protests at Israel-Gaza border, West Bank

Hundreds threw rocks, Molotov cocktails and other explosive objects at the security fence and Israel Defense Forces.

Hundreds of Palestinians gathered at the border of Israel and the Gaza Strip on Friday as part of the continuation of the “March of Return” demonstrations that have occurred nearly week throughout 2018 and 2019.

Prompted by Hamas, they threw rocks, Molotov cocktails and other explosive objects at the security fence and Israel Defense Forces, as well as burned tires, yelled anti-Israel slogans and waved Palestinian flags.

One Molotov cocktail hit an IDF vehicle, though no injuries resulted.

The Palestinian health ministry reported nearly 100 Palestinians as having been wounded in the mayhem.

Protests also occurred in the West Bank on Friday, with Arab adults encouraging children to collect and burn tires.

The holiday, which commemorates the Exodus from Egypt and runs from April 1 through 8, often sees large family gatherings and an increase in domestic travel.
The Israeli military launched 120 munitions at sites used for the research, development and production of weapons.
The president’s legal adviser, Michal Tzuk, asked for precedents in which pardons were granted before a trial was concluded.
“A U.N. mandate born from a 2014 Iran-sponsored resolution is now set to be filled by Zeina Jallad, who has voiced support for Hamas,” Israel’s Foreign Ministry said.
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, the advocacy agent of the Jewish Federations of Canada-UIA, said that it was “left with a deep sense of sadness.”
