The final go-ahead was granted for 1,800 units, while 1,344 received preliminary approval. A further 1,303 units are to be approved for Palestinians in Judea and Samaria.

“I was shocked to hear … senior officials from the former government discussing other communities within the United States as the main relations of the Israeli government,” said Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, referring to former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer on evangelical Christians.
“These candidates, some of whom face vocal anti-Israel primary opponents, are running in some of the most competitive primary and general elections across the country in 2022,” said executive director of the bipartisan PAC Jeff Mendelsohn.
The former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations wants to focus on improving relations with the Diaspora, involving the younger generation, drawing more visitors to Israel and alleviating bureaucratic issues with making “aliyah.”
The Israeli leader appeared determined to change how the Jewish state is understood; a number of times during the trip, he emphasized the need for Israel to be seen as a country with energy, optimism, success and a strong, even optimal future.
