The U.S. secretary “commended the swift actions taken by the UAE’s law enforcement authorities in response to the murder,” per the State Department readout.
“There are any number of stages where we have hoped that the parties would get to an agreement,” said Matthew Miller, the Foggy Bottom spokesman.
Case “sends strong message to those that violate export controls,” said agent Aaron Tambrini of the Chicago office of U.S. Department of Commerce.
