The movement told the outlet that the three would “transition off of the Women’s March Board and onto other projects focused on advocacy within their respective organizations.”
He plans to discuss “British state and non-state actors” using “a variety of methods to suppress the democratic mobilizing of those working for progressive causes.”
“All too often, the topic of Israel is sloganized and simplified; people fail to see the nuances that exist,” said Caravan for Democracy participant and Hofstra University student Deandra Denton.
The law was narrowed in May as Gov. Greg Abbott signed an updated version of it, exempting individuals and smaller companies, specifically those with less than 10 full-time employees or valued under $100,000.
“The resolution’s sponsors have already shown that they are uninterested in debate or dialogue with those opposed to academic boycotts in general and of Israel’s academy in particular,” stated a letter put forth by Academic Engagement Network, an organization of American college and university faculty opposing the BDS movement.
“My colleagues and I condemn the BDS movement, and we have sent a letter to the Office of Foreign Asset Control requesting an update on the federal government’s oversight of non-governmental organizations engaged in anti-Semitic hate against our allies in Israel and the Jewish people worldwide,” said Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) at the signing ceremony.
